BEGIN on Ballard Ave is an artisan jewelry boutique and gallery space. We curate a selection of handmade adornments sourced both globally and locally, including in house handmade fabrication, also featuring monthly painters and digital artists. We offer an organically immersive space where we warmly welcome customers with open arms to witness and celebrate their inner beauty. We are proudly anchored in the Ballard community, and love sharing our space with visitors.

We are seeking a vibrant and adaptive individual to join us full time as an Assistant to our Store Lead. The business is expanding, demanding professionalism, reliability, and an “all hands on deck / do anything that needs done” attitude. The ideal candidate would have experience in:

• 3 to 5 years of retail, sales, and customer service

• apprenticeship & teamwork dynamics

• initiative for balancing and completing multiple projects

• examples of aesthetic interest or expertise

• working independently

• highschool diploma or GED equivalent

The ideal candidate would have proficiency in:

• macOS

• applications such as Square POS, monday.com, Google calendar, spreadsheets and word processing

• strong written skills especially over email

• experience with visual merchandising

• inventory comprehension, maintenance, and entry

The ideal candidate would be naturally:

A typical working day may consist of assisting store lead in all areas of daily business operations:

• several hours of cleaning

• greeting guests, conversations with customers, providing information for items on floor

• inventory maintenance and management

• display maintenance as directed

• learning jewelry fabrication skills

• organizing shipments

• maintaining various projects and brining them to completion

• lifting / carrying / moving at least 40 pounds

• ability to walk and stand for long hours

• encountering an uncomfortable moment, communicating perceptions and needs, finding resolution

• having a heartfelt connection with someone, feeling seen and celebrated

Job compensation package:

• schedule of Wed - Sun

• 30-40 hours a week

• beginning pay during training: $20-22.50 depending on prior experience

• 90 day probationary period, once proficiency is demonstrated raises up to $30 may be possible over time
